The director wants 64 departments so 64 subnets. 2n-2>=64. Hence, the minimum number of bits to borrow is N = 7, where 27-2>=126 fulfill the 64 subnets.
What is the new subnet mask? Show working clearly.
The company is given a network address of 128. 1. 0. 0 so it is a class B network and its default subnet mask is 255.255.0.0.
The new subnet mask is 255.255.254(11111110).0
